It is a great honour and pleasure for us to invite you cordially to participate in the 8th Congress on Trends in Medical Mycology (TIMM-8), which will be held in October 6-9, 2017 at The Congress Centre Sava and Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia. TIMM-8 is the 8th in the series of TIMM mycological international meetings organized jointly by the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM) and the Infectious Diseases Group of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC-IDG). TIMM has become an important and essential meeting in the field of fungal infections, a forum in which researchers and clinicians from all over the world present the most important advances and research findings in mycology.



TIMM-8 will cover all aspects of mycology with special focus on evidence-based and personalized approach to medical mycology, as well as diagnostic-therapeutic integrative efforts in the quest to improve the present knowledge of epidemiology, diagnosis, clinical course and pathophysiological mechanisms of fungal diseases. It would be the place to present recent innovations and commercial tools in medical mycology. The TIMM-8 should be particularly helpful for young scientists to broaden their views and get new ideas – from fundamental science to the realization of clinical and laboratory practice. The meeting is designed for medical microbiologists, microbiologists, haematologists, oncologists, transplant physicians, intensivists, immunologists, dermatologists, paediatricians, pharmacologists, biologists, molecular biologists, biochemists and all those with interests in medical mycology.



Belgrade has become important conference, cultural and business center in region since it is centrally located in Europe at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers and thus presents the hub of all regional activities which allows participants to easily combine their travels with excellent connections across by car, bus, air or railway. Great value-for-money and low travel costs without any visa requirement will give possibility for increase of availability of medical mycology knowledge in Eastern European countries and low income countries all over the World. The social program will take full advantage of this excellent location by arranging evening museum visits, musical concert attendance and informal events.
